HIGHER EDUCATION is the MICROCOSM of Real Life... Careers in this Real Estate with this Market??? THAT'S HOG WASH!!!

Higher Education and Training is the Microcosm of Real Life.  HOG WASH when you consider the Real Estate Industry as Most People Know it!!!

The other day, I had the opportunity to talk to a few future college graduates considering a career associated with real estate.  The introductory speaker utilized a commonly used college mission/vision statement identifying with Higher Education being the Microcosm of Real Life. 

When comparing the two lives such as:  the College life and the Real Life, you can draw upon several comparisons to assimilate with.  The obvious one could clearly involve the "Try, Fail, Adjust, Try, Fail, Adjust, Try, Fail Succeed" scenario in College and Real life.  In college students study a bit, fail, study a bit more, fail and study a bit more to succeed at the level they want to score or achieve. 

                                          

So where does the Hog Wash come into this blog.  I'm really referring to the implied professionalism all Realtors seem to have within their own minds, or should I say egos.  Here are the facts.  Over 90% of all realtors earn less than $60,000 annually.  In fact the average income for realtors in North America is only $23,000 annually.  Does that seem like a lot of money to you?  What surprises me less and less each year is the realization that Realtors in general (90% of the time) do not know or even consider applying the above to their daily lives.

In order to be successful in college and life for that matter, we need to wake up to a plan we participate in and work that plan.  Successful college students have planners.  They schedule their playtime, study time, work time, exercise time and somehow survive the stressors of life with their schedule.  Here's the irony with Realtors in general.  They think that once they obtain their licensure, they can now wake up when they want, work when they want and play when they want.  Hog Wash!  That's why the average income of an average realtor is only $23,000 annually.  They completely missed the boat in school.  Less than 10% of realtors (the successful one's), wake up each day to a written plan they put together and they work their plan.  Their daily plan includes when they prospect, when they manage clients, when they make phone calls, when they answer calls, when they return calls, when they exercise, when they eat, and when they play.  The one piece I intentionally left out of the previous sentence is the higher education piece: TRAINING.  TOP PRODUCERS IN REAL ESTATE take time each week to train several days per week, every week.  They dial into mastermind groups, purchase and play educational materials regularly and tolerate zero calls or interruptions during their training times.  TOP PRODUCERS never stop learning. 

So let me restructure the title to something I can live with.  Higher Education and Learning is the Microcosm of Success in Real Life.  No excuses for anything less!!!

Try studying the genius in real estate.  Generally speaking, it's not the brokers or managers.  They're generally the one's who reap the rewards from the genius in the industry.  You see, the genius in the industry are the TOP PRODUCERS.  Unfortunately in most traditional companies, they're not telling others what they're doing to be successful.  That's one of the most significant problems with the real estate industry.  It lacks the pass-me-down wisdom philosophy.  There is no vested interest in a top producer to share their wisdom with others.  In fact most companies enable the mediocre to remain mediocre.  They feel the company is the greatest asset to them.  WRONG AGAIN!!!  The companies keep touting and advertising their company name without promoting their greatest assets. You know that the people who actually successfully help you develop personal wealth through your real estate transactions are the people/realtors.  NOT THE COMPANY!!!  Would you feel comfortable calling the company and have them reach into their giant fish bowl of business cards and assign you a realtor? Doesn't that sound insane when you're dealing with one of your greatest assets you'll ever deal with?    The greatest assets to any real estate company should be the real estate agents.  A Brokerage doesn't exist without real estate agents running around in the rain and snow, helping people make their exit from one place to another in a safe manner.  So what's wrong with that picture.  Then Why don't the TOP PRODUCERS share their knowledge?  The answer is simple.  They belong to a company whose Ivory Tower grows taller with their production. 

Okay, take a moment for a brief fairy tale.  What if I were the CEO of your real estate franchise and I would pay you 10% of the gross income of every associate you introduce to our company for as long as they sell real estate.  Could you do anything with that?  Do you think the TOP PRODUCERS might want to share their knowledge, experience and/or training then? WOW, you mean if John introduces Mary into our company and Mary sells $70,000 annually, John would receive $7,000 every year Mary sells real estate.  What if she does that for 20 years?  That would be about $140,000 from introducing one person into the company.  Could I introduce and maybe mentor several others?  Absolutely!!!  You can introduce as many people as you want, it's unlimited what you could earn by simply introducing them to the broker, the broker recruits them on your behalf and you reap the residual rewards.  You see, that's where most companies miss the target.  The most important assets to the company are the agents.  Why leave the companies growth and profitability up to one person?  Why not let everybody in the company help with it's growth and profitability and why not reward them for their efforts.  Okay, is this one of the MLM things?  You know, those schemes?  NO MLM, single level residuals, NOT PROFIT SHARING either, no need to depend on the companies management of their profits.  Simply single level residuals (PURE AND APPLIED REVENUE SHARING).  Ask Sam Walton what he thinks about it!  Something like what the music industry and/or the Insurance industry develop their personal wealth upon.  Do the work once and get paid over and over and over.  Could you do anything with that in the Real Estate industry?

Let's take this one step further.  What if I (pretending to be your companies CEO) would continue to pay you the equivalent of 7% of the gross for all the people you introduced to our company when YOUR RETIRE, could you do anything with that???  What?  You mean, I would receive a retirement income directly related to 7% of the gross income of everybody I introduced to the company for as long as they sell even when I stop selling real estate?  Yes!  Could I continue to introduce people to my company even when I retire?  Yes!  That means I could enhance my retirement, right?  Yes!

Let's take this another step further.  What if I (still pretending) would continue to pay your pre-chosen beneficiary should your demise occur.  What if I paid your beneficiary 5% of the gross of all the people you introduced to the company.  Could your spouse/beneficiary do anything with that?  Do you mean, that if I die, my spouse would receive 5% of the gross income earned of all the people I introduced to the company over the years?  Yes!  Could my spouse/beneficiary also feed those same people to enhance his/her death beneficiary income.  Absolutely Yes!  Could you do anything with that?  Do you mean I could earn a FREE company car, vacations, vacation property, kids college education etc with this residual income?  You got it... See how I earned my free company car in my first two years by clicking here .  So all this income is above and beyond my commissions?  Yes!  Consider it your Salary plus Commissions with NO DESK FEES EVER!!!  The only proven real estate model whereby you could earn much more than 100% while being supported by the best Pass-me-down wisdom and training available.  Wait a minute, people are going to train, help and support me as well!!!  You got it!
